Predictions, Assumptions, and Our Brain

According to neuroscience, even before events happen the brain has already made a prediction abut what is most likely to happen, and sets in motion the perception, behaviors, emotions, physiologic responses and interpersonal ways of relating that best fit with what is predicted. In a sense, we learn from the past what to predict for the future and then live the future we expect.

A study comparing the golf swings of top professional golfers with the swings of average golfers provides some useful lessons about doing, effort, and effortlessness. This study shows three different rows, detailing their various golf swings. The top row is that of a professional golfer. The second row is of an average golfer swinging and hitting golf ball.
