Mindful Self-Awareness
This 2-hour module introduces the theory and neuroscience of mindfulness and its application towards developing self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Most class time will be spent practicing and discussing exercises designed to enhance the interaction of brain systems involved in developing self-awareness. 

Learning Objectives After this session, participants will be able to:

  1. Define emotional intelligence and self-awareness, and explain the relationship between self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and stress management.
  2. Identify basic components of the neuroscience of emotion and attention, and implement mindfulness and attention training practices designed to improve emotional intelligence skills.
  3. Apply activities (mindfulness meditation, journaling, mindful listening) for developing self-awareness at work and at home.
